Sailing Towards Sustainability: A Morning with Oceana and North Sails

With the Copa América, the sea has become one of the protagonists of our city. Would you like to know how we can take better care of it? On October 19th, from 12 PM to 2 PM, at the Time Out Market Barcelona, we are organizing an event dedicated to ocean preservation: ‘Sailing Towards Sustainability: A Morning with Oceana and North Sails’. The event, hosted by North Sails and the Ocean Family Foundation, will feature Ricardo Aguilar, Expedition Leader at Oceana, along with professional sailors from North Sails. The gathering will focus on the urgent need to protect marine life, highlighting the ban on bottom trawling in the European Union’s marine protected areas.

The event will start at 12:00 PM with a welcome speech, followed by a talk on the impact of bottom trawling and how the sailing community is leading efforts to protect the oceans. There will then be a Q&A session where you can interact with the speakers. The morning will conclude at 1:15 PM with a tasting of sustainable, locally-sourced seafood provided by the vendors at the Time Out Market, reaffirming a shared commitment to sustainability.
