Sala de Prova

Located at the top of the tower, inspired by the old water tanks that used to exist in railway stations, the Sala de Prova or Wine Tasting Room is a space dedicated to both Douro table wines and port, with a programme of courses, tastings and events coordinated by leading local oenologist Bento Amaral. But since you shouldn’t drink too much wine on an empty stomach, it also has an extensive menu, drawn up by chef Luís Américo, with plenty of pastries, croquettes, cheeses and charcuterie to accompany the wine you’re about to try, as well as hot mains for you to go on to enjoy a proper meal.
